Connected hardware platform that eliminated the blind spots in our operational data

Aarav Mehta / Chief Data Officer - Zenith FinServ Ltd

Project summary: Cross-agency data sharing had been blocked by incompatible systems for four years. A secure integration platform was the prerequisite for every transformation initiative in our roadmap.

The project brief was ambitious and we had received proposals ranging from two to five times our eventual budget from other vendors. This team came back with a proposal that was commercially realistic and technically credible — and then delivered against it. That alignment between proposal and outcome is not something I take for granted. I have been on the other side of it enough times to know it requires both honesty in the sales process and discipline in delivery. We experienced both.

PROS

Clear and consistent communication adapted appropriately for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, shared tooling that gave our team real-time visibility, reliable sprint delivery throughout

CONS

Time zone coordination required some deliberate overlap management from both sides in the first couple of sprints, after which we had an efficient async rhythm that worked for the whole project

Questions & Answers

Please describe your company, your role, and the industry you operate in.
I lead technology at Zenith FinServ Ltd, a growth-stage Government & Public Sector business based in Bangalore, India. As Chief Data Officer my remit spans product engineering, platform operations, and strategic vendor partnerships. We had reached an inflection point where our internal capacity was not sufficient to execute our roadmap at the pace our market required.
What specific problem or business challenge led you to hire this company?
Regulatory requirements in our Government & Public Sector segment had changed and the compliance timeline was set by our regulator, not by us. The IoT Development changes required were significant enough to justify engaging a specialist partner rather than diverting our internal team from the product roadmap.
What services did the company provide for your project?
The core engagement was IoT Development delivery, though their scope expanded to include technical consultancy during discovery that materially improved our requirements. They also took ownership of the third-party integration workstream that had been a coordination challenge in previous projects, removing that complexity from our internal team entirely.
Why did you choose this company over other providers you considered?
We had a failed engagement behind us and were more rigorous in our selection process as a result. We asked detailed questions about how they managed scope change, how they handled estimation, and how they communicated problems. The answers were specific, evidenced, and consistent across the team members we spoke to. That gave us confidence that the process was real rather than rehearsed.
How clearly did the company understand your requirements and business goals?
Extremely well, in part because they had relevant Government & Public Sector experience that reduced the context-setting overhead significantly. They understood the domain vocabulary, asked the right questions, and translated business requirements into technical specifications with a fidelity that meant the development phase had very few clarification cycles.
How was your overall experience with their communication and project management?
The project management framework was the most structured I have experienced with an external vendor. Sprint planning was tight, acceptance criteria were specific, retrospectives were honest and acted on. The project manager treated the shared backlog as a live document and the risk register as an operational tool rather than a compliance artefact. I never had to ask for a status update.
Did the company deliver the project on time and within your expected budget?
The project landed on time. The budget was managed within the agreed ceiling, which included one client-driven scope addition that was quoted fairly and handled without affecting the original delivery stream. The discipline around budget transparency throughout meant there was no surprise at invoice stage.
What tangible results or business impact have you seen since the project was completed?
The most direct measure is the performance of the system in production. In the five months since go-live we have had zero P1 incidents, our page performance scores have improved across every Core Web Vitals metric, and two enterprise clients who had cited our previous platform limitations during contract negotiations have since renewed without that objection arising.
What did you like most about working with this company?
The willingness to be direct. When our requirements were unclear they said so. When our priorities were contradictory they explained why. When a technical approach we had assumed was the right one turned out to have significant downsides, they told us before we had committed to it. That kind of intellectual honesty is what I look for in a long-term technology partner.
Would you recommend this company to others, and would you work with them again?
Yes, without reservation. I have already made two direct referrals within my Government & Public Sector network — in both cases to peers facing IoT Development challenges similar to ours. I gave those referrals with confidence because I knew the experience I described was reproducible, not the result of exceptional circumstances on our engagement.

FAQs

Will Momentum3 sign an NDA before we even discuss the project in detail?
Most professional shops, including Momentum3, expect to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before getting into specifics — it's a fairly standard ask and a reasonable one to make before sharing anything sensitive. For context, it has served clients in USA, and it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Sports & Fitness, Government & Public Sector, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Real Estate.
Would Momentum3 be a good fit for an early-stage startup?
Generally, yes — companies like Momentum3 tend to work well with startups because of what they typically offer: MVP builds, product strategy input, architecture that can scale later, and dedicated teams that keep costs manageable while still moving fast. For context, its listed capabilities span Custom Software Development, Digital Strategy, Mobile App Development, UI-UX Design and Web Design, and its average project cost is reported at $2500000+.
Roughly how long does a project with Momentum3 take start to finish?
It depends heavily on scope. A lean MVP might be a matter of weeks, while a full enterprise system or a larger digital transformation project can stretch into months once you factor in development, testing, and deployment. With a team of 10 - 49 professionals, Momentum3 can scale resources based on project urgency.
Can Momentum3 take on an old, outdated system rather than starting from scratch?
Modernizing legacy software is usually within scope for a firm like Momentum3 — re-platforming, refactoring old code, and moving things onto current frameworks or cloud infrastructure without necessarily rebuilding everything from zero. For context, it has served clients in USA, and it has been operating since 2014.
What should I actually be looking at when comparing a company like Momentum3 to others?
When you're weighing up a software partner such as Momentum3, it's worth looking past the pitch and checking the portfolio, what past clients say, relevant industry background, technical range, how they communicate, pricing structure, project management style, and what support looks like after launch. For context, its listed capabilities span Custom Software Development, Digital Strategy, Mobile App Development, UI-UX Design and Web Design, and its average project cost is reported at $2500000+.
What should I expect to pay to work with Momentum3?
What Momentum3 charges comes down to a handful of variables — how complex the project is, the number of development hours involved, the tech stack required, team size, and which engagement model you pick. Based on available data, Momentum3's typical hourly rate is around $25 - $49, with an average project cost of $2500000+.
Does Momentum3 actually build with AI, or just talk about it?
Plenty of modern software teams, Momentum3 included, now build real AI and machine learning features — chatbots, predictive models, computer vision, and automation that goes beyond simple rule-based scripts. For context, it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Sports & Fitness, Government & Public Sector, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Real Estate, and it has served clients in USA.
What kind of software work does Momentum3 take on?
Momentum3 typically covers the standard range of software development work — mobile apps, web platforms, custom internal tools, UI/UX design, cloud infrastructure, AI integrations, and larger enterprise builds. Its core focus areas include Custom Software Development, Digital Strategy, Mobile App Development, UI-UX Design and Web Design.
What happens with Momentum3 after the project actually launches?
Like most established software teams, Momentum3 typically sticks around post-launch for ongoing maintenance — bug fixes, performance tuning, security patching, new feature work, and general technical support. For context, it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Sports & Fitness, Government & Public Sector, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Real Estate, and its typical hourly rate is around $25 - $49.
