Virtual environment that our remote team now uses as their primary collaboration space

Matthieu Renard / Directeur Technique - Lumière Technologies SAS

Project summary: Our engineering capacity was committed to maintaining existing systems and could not absorb a net-new build of this complexity. An external partner with the right skills was the only viable option.

The project brief was ambitious and we had received proposals ranging from two to five times our eventual budget from other vendors. This team came back with a proposal that was commercially realistic and technically credible — and then delivered against it. That alignment between proposal and outcome is not something I take for granted. I have been on the other side of it enough times to know it requires both honesty in the sales process and discipline in delivery. We experienced both.

PROS

Delivery timeline that proved achievable rather than optimistic, estimation accuracy that reflected real analysis rather than competitive bidding, scope discipline that prevented the feature creep we had experienced before

CONS

Their discovery process is more rigorous than we were accustomed to and required more preparation from our side than we had initially allocated — but the quality of what followed justified every hour of it

Questions & Answers

Please describe your company, your role, and the industry you operate in.
I lead technology at Lumière Technologies SAS, a growth-stage Human Resources business based in Paris, France. As Directeur Technique my remit spans product engineering, platform operations, and strategic vendor partnerships. We had reached an inflection point where our internal capacity was not sufficient to execute our roadmap at the pace our market required.
What specific problem or business challenge led you to hire this company?
Our platform had been maintained by a previous vendor for three years and the accumulated technical debt had reached a point where delivery velocity had dropped to a fraction of what it should have been. We needed fresh engineering expertise and a structured plan to address the underlying issues.
What services did the company provide for your project?
The core engagement was AR/VR Development delivery, though their scope expanded to include technical consultancy during discovery that materially improved our requirements. They also took ownership of the third-party integration workstream that had been a coordination challenge in previous projects, removing that complexity from our internal team entirely.
Why did you choose this company over other providers you considered?
The quality of the questions they asked during the briefing process was the first indicator. Vendors who ask precise questions in the sales phase tend to apply the same rigour during delivery. That hypothesis proved accurate. The technical proposal was substantive, the team structure was senior throughout, and the pricing was transparent.
How clearly did the company understand your requirements and business goals?
Thoroughly and precisely. The requirements document they produced was detailed enough that our QA team used it directly to write acceptance criteria. Every user story had a defined business objective attached. Nothing was left to interpretation. That discipline in the requirements phase paid dividends throughout development and testing.
How was your overall experience with their communication and project management?
Professional and efficient. The project manager maintained a clear view of the critical path at all times and communicated changes to it transparently. The one significant scope adjustment we made mid-project was handled through a clean change request process — fairly priced, clearly documented, and absorbed without disrupting the overall timeline.
Did the company deliver the project on time and within your expected budget?
Yes. I had privately built a contingency expectation into my planning given the project complexity and the number of integrations involved. None of that contingency was needed. The delivery landed on the agreed date and the final invoice matched the approved budget to within a fraction of a percent. That outcome is rarer than the industry acknowledges.
What tangible results or business impact have you seen since the project was completed?
Quantifying the impact precisely is complicated by other variables in our business, but the metrics we can attribute directly to the AR/VR Development work are meaningful: session duration up, conversion rate up, error rate down, and our NPS for the digital touchpoint has improved by eleven points. Our account managers report that the new capability is coming up positively in client conversations.
What did you like most about working with this company?
The continuity of the team. The engineers who participated in the discovery sessions were the engineers who built the system. That consistency of institutional knowledge across a six-month project has a value that is difficult to quantify but easy to notice when it is absent. Every conversation built on the previous ones.
Would you recommend this company to others, and would you work with them again?
Absolutely. With a specific note that the value starts in the discovery phase — clients who approach that process with seriousness will get the most from the engagement. We invested appropriately at the front end and the returns are evident in what was delivered.

FAQs

Has Flyphant actually shipped a SaaS product before?
It's a common line of work for a company like Flyphant — multi-tenant architecture, subscription billing hooked up properly, and cloud-native deployment built for a product meant to scale as a service rather than a one-off build. For context, it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Advertising & Marketing, Human Resources, Events & Event Management, Education and Travel & Hospitality, and its average project cost is reported at $50000+.
Will Flyphant sign an NDA before we even discuss the project in detail?
Most professional shops, including Flyphant, expect to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before getting into specifics — it's a fairly standard ask and a reasonable one to make before sharing anything sensitive. For context, it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Advertising & Marketing, Human Resources, Events & Event Management, Education and Travel & Hospitality, and its average project cost is reported at $50000+.
What happens with Flyphant after the project actually launches?
Like most established software teams, Flyphant typically sticks around post-launch for ongoing maintenance — bug fixes, performance tuning, security patching, new feature work, and general technical support. For context, it has served clients in Russia, and it has been operating since 2012.
How do I actually get a real proposal out of Flyphant instead of a generic reply?
The most reliable route is giving Flyphant a clear, specific brief up front — through their website form, a direct email, or a call — since a vague ask tends to get a vague answer back, while a concrete one usually gets a proper estimate. For context, it has served clients in Russia, and its typical hourly rate is around $50 - $99.
Does Flyphant actually build with AI, or just talk about it?
Plenty of modern software teams, Flyphant included, now build real AI and machine learning features — chatbots, predictive models, computer vision, and automation that goes beyond simple rule-based scripts. For context, its listed capabilities span Branding, Custom Software Development, Logo Designing, Mobile App Development and Web Design, and it has served clients in Russia.
Does Flyphant only work locally, or take on clients elsewhere too?
Flyphant isn't necessarily limited to one region and may take on clients across several countries, including Russia, depending on market demand and business partnerships.
What should I actually be looking at when comparing a company like Flyphant to others?
When you're weighing up a software partner such as Flyphant, it's worth looking past the pitch and checking the portfolio, what past clients say, relevant industry background, technical range, how they communicate, pricing structure, project management style, and what support looks like after launch. For context, it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Advertising & Marketing, Human Resources, Events & Event Management, Education and Travel & Hospitality, and its average project cost is reported at $50000+.
What makes Flyphant worth considering over other options?
What tends to set Flyphant apart usually comes down to some mix of technical depth, relevant industry experience, how clients describe working with them, their development approach, communication habits, and whether they can actually deliver something that scales. Founded in 2012, the company has built a track record of delivering projects across various industries.
Is Flyphant more of an offshore setup or a local team?
That depends on where Flyphant is based and who they primarily serve — some firms like this operate fully offshore, some are local-first, and plenty run a hybrid model that mixes both. For context, its listed capabilities span Branding, Custom Software Development, Logo Designing, Mobile App Development and Web Design, and it has experience across industries such as Agriculture, Advertising & Marketing, Human Resources, Events & Event Management, Education and Travel & Hospitality.
